Carmela Pappalardo
Carmela R. (Marino) Pappalardo departed this life peacefully on April 9, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Carmela was born in Rocky Hill to John and Jennie (Tolli) Marino, the third of seven daughters. She moved to Cromwell in 1954 where she raised her two children and worked for the Cromwell school system for 25 years. Carmela was predeceased by her beloved husband Paul J. Pappalardo, as well as four sisters, Lucy Sarra, Sadie DiBatista, Livia Popalardo, and Teresa Russo, all of Rocky Hill. She is survived by her twin son and daughter and their spouses, Paul A. and Paula Pappalardo of Harrisville, RI, and Mary Jane and James Densmore of Wethersfield. She leaves her three adored grandchildren and their spouses Todd and Dawn Densmore of Atlanta, GA, Bethany and Jonathan Ucran of Johnston, RI, and Erin and John Giuliano of Middletown. She also leaves 4 great grandchildren, Keegan and Peyton Densmore, Joshua Ucran and John James Giuliano, and was looking forward to the birth of her 5th in September. Carmela is also survived by two sisters, Amelia Alberico and Vera Rowell both of Rocky Hill, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Carmela's sisters, their families and her children were the light of her life. She enjoyed every minute spent with family, including Easter and Thanksgiving in Rhode Island and Sunday dinners with her daughter and family. She will be dearly missed by all.
Friends and Family may call at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 4 - 7 p.m. The funeral will be on Thursday, April, 14 at 9 a.m. at Rose Hill followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. John Church, Cromwell. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rocky Hill.
