Esther Goodwin, 92, of Cromwell and Zephyrhills, FL, died Tuesday (November 19, 2002). Her husband, William Henry, Goodwin, Jr., preceded her in death in 1975. Born in Andover, NH to Arthur F. and Asenath A. Woodward where she attended Proctor Academy. She graduated from Plymouth NH Normal School and received a BS degree in Education in 1965 from Central CT State College. She began teaching in 1932 in Canterbury, NH where she met and married her husband in 1934.

She taught in one room schools in NH for 7-1/2 years. In CT she was with Cromwell Public Schools for 21 years. teaching second grade and sixth grade language arts and special education. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Cromwell and First Christian Church in Zephyrhills, FL, was past Worthy Matron of Cromwell Chapter No. 66 O.E.S., and was a 50 year member of Blackwater Grange No. 152 in Andover.

After retiring in 1974 she moved to Betmar Acres in Zephyrhills, FL, the Edwinola in Data City, FL. and Ridgeview Healthcare Center in Cromwell.

She is survived by three sons, William H., III of Enfield, Dean L. of Marietta, GA. and Robert A. of Cromwell; and four grandsons, William H., IV of Southwick, MA. Adam of Lunenburg, MA, and Joshua and Daniel of Cromwell. Graveside services will be conducted at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
