Hilda (Ostergren) Cole, 100, wife of the late Everett "Pete" Cole, of Covenant Village, Cromwell, died at Pilgrim Manor, Friday (Sept. 17, 2004). She was born in Portland, daughter of the late David and Alida (Rapp) Ostergren. Mrs. Cole lived in Cromwell since 1927, was a member of the Covenant Congregational Church, The Home Club and a life member of the Cromwell Historical Society. She was the public health and school nurse for the town of Cromwell for many years and was on the Cromwell Board of Education for twenty years. She leaves a daughter, Jean Fischer of Madison; three grandchildren, Alida Fischer Berryhill and her husband Kenneth of Lafayette, CO, Jonathan Fischer of Southport and Michael Fischer and his wife Claudia of Madison; two great grandchildren, Carly Rose Fischer and Alexandra Cole Fischer and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Prudence Eldridge and four brothers, Clarence Ostergren, Robert Ostergren, Harold Ostergren and Carl Ostergren.

Funeral services will be held at the Covenant Congregational Church, West St. at Hicksville Rd., Cromwell, Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Swedish Cemetery, Portland at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St., Cromwell Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. and are invited to send a message of condolence to the family at the website of www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
