Karen Anderson
1962 - 2025
It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our cherished sister, Karen, of Cromwell, CT, who departed this life on Friday, April 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 30, 1962, in Middletown, CT, to Donald L. Anderson, Sr. and Josephine Anderson (LoGiudice), Karen was raised in Cromwell alongside her four siblings.
Karen's educational journey began in Cromwell schools, culminating in her graduation from Mercy High School, Class of 1980. She furthered her studies at Central Connecticut State College. Her professional life was marked by her success as a Mortgage Underwriter and Realtor in Florida and Tennessee, where she found immense joy in helping others discover their forever homes. Karen was a lifelong learner, earning a black belt in taekwondo, graduating from broadcasting school, and completing Barbizon modeling school.
Her unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life, evident in her active participation in her church and her generous sharing of faith with others. Karen was a devoted prayer warrior, particularly for the less fortunate, and embarked on multiple missions to Ukraine. Her steadfast trust in the Lord provided comfort to family and friends during challenging times. Karen delighted in praying, acting, singing, dancing, attending Broadway shows, enjoying the beach, boating, and traveling to remarkable destinations throughout her life. She often expressed gratitude for the opportunity to travel in her younger years, meeting wonderful people and witnessing breathtaking places. Karen's love for animals was boundless, as she welcomed numerous stray pets into her home.
The birth of Karen's daughter was the brightest moment of her life. She homeschooled Ashley for twelve years, cherishing their time together. As Ashley pursued dance, Karen was her most ardent supporter and enthusiastic cheerleader. Ashley was the center of Karen's world, and there was nothing she wouldn't do for her beloved daughter.
Karen is survived by her treasured daughter, Ashley Delices, and her husband, Jordan Delices of Port Charlotte, FL; her Irish twin sister Kristie-Rae Damiane of South Windsor; her brother Donald L. Anderson Jr. and his wife Mercedes Peralta Zuniga of Florida; her sister Katie Moran and her husband John Moran of Cromwell; her youngest sister Karleen "Weeze" Anderson of Cromwell; and her beloved dog Tucker of Florida.
She also leaves behind her loving Aunt and Godmother, Madeline B. McDermott (Anderson) of Cromwell, her special Goddaughter Kerri Duque (McCarthy) of Cromwell as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, who she loved with all her heart -- Steve Burnham and his son Colton; Rachel Buonanducci and her husband Glenn, Jamie Sales and her husband Jeff, as well as their children Natalia and Cadence, Justine Burdick and her husband Jeremie, as well as their children Luke Stennett, Miles, and Evan, Alan Anderson and his son Dominic, Kayla Zadjura and her husband Zach, as well as their children Carson and Tyler, and Kerri Duque and her husband Juan, as well as their children Mateo and Lucia.
Karen's life was a testament to the power of family, prayer, loyalty, dedication to the Lord, and a commitment to making the world a better place through love, empathy, compassion, and service.
