Stephen Raymond Fanska, 59, of Middletown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, February 5, 2016. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Harty) Fanska.
Stephen loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed coaching his children in the sports they played, and was always their biggest fan. He loved golfing, vacationing in Maine, and making numerous trips to Myrtle Beach. His caring ways and sense of humor will truly be missed.
Stephen is survived by his daughter, Sarah Turner and her husband, Douglas of Middletown; his son, Gregory Fanska and his wife, Jessica of Middletown; two grandchildren, Emma Turner and Peyton Fanska; his sister, Pamela Grande and her husband, Thomas of Cromwell; two nephews, TJ and David Grande and his long time friend, Teresa Fanska.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 11th at 9:00 am from the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Saint Pius X Church, 310 Westfield Street, Middletown. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery in Waterbury. Family and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Doolittle Funeral Home.
