Joseph Anthony Palmieri, Sr., 62, of Cromwell, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 with his family by his side at Water's Edge Health Care. Born in Middletown, he was the son of John P. Palmieri of Cromwell and the late Anna Marie (Morello) Palmieri.
Joe grew up in Cromwell and moved to Florida for many years before returning to Cromwell. He was a very talented woodworker which he shared with both his father and sons. He enjoyed spending time in the garage building and repairing British motorcycles with his father, John "Duke". Joe looked forward to the start of the fishing season with opening day camping trips with his family.
Along with his father, John Palmieri, Joe is survived by three sons, Joseph A. Palmieri, Jr. and his wife, Lisa of Higganum, David Palmieri and his wife, Caitlin of Moodus and Paolo James Palmieri of Willimantic; a daughter, Jeanine Palmieri of Cromwell; a brother, Anthony Palmieri of New Britain; and two sisters, Claudia Palmieri and Angela Marchinkowski and her husband, Paul, all of Cromwell. He also leaves six grandchildren, Joey DiVicino, Christopher Palmieri, Michael Palmieri, Anna Grochowski, Abigail Grochowski and Eli Palmieri.
Besides his mother, Joe was predeceased by his brother, John Philip Palmieri, Jr.
Family and friends may call on Monday, December 19 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell. There will be no service or burial.
