Donald Emond of Uncasville, Connecticut passed away on May 6, 2026.
Born October 20, 1950, to Barbara R and Donald C Emond, Don grew up in Cromwell and graduated high school class of 1968. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his large family in Connecticut, Maine and upstate NH.
He loved to cook and bake and only narrowly missed going off to culinary school. He was also a member of the CT Army National Guard.
Don found great joy in going on cruises and relaxing in Aruba. A lifelong fisherman, he cherished the time spent with his father; over decades on Long Island Sound to the lakes of Connecticut and the mountain streams of Pittsburg, New Hampshire, where their families lived over the years.
Don's passion for automobiles was sparked while working his teenage years at Bishop's Garage in Cromwell. This foundation paved the way for a successful career in auto insurance appraisal, eventually leading him into auto body management for several dealerships across southeastern Connecticut. He even had his own repair shop early on in Middletown and an appraisal service in New Hampshire.
Following his retirement, Don and Alice moved to Florida alongside his parents. In 2021, they returned home to Connecticut, settling in Uncasville. Throughout their 51 years of marriage, Alice remained his beloved wife, and they shared their home with their cherished dog, Sadie.
Don leaves behind his wife Alice (Bojarski) Emond, his daughters Jennifer Perham, her husband David, grandchildren, Colin and Delaney of Colchester, and Cheryl Wasik, her husband Rich, and grandchildren, Alina and Gibson, of Waterford, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Barbara and Donald C. Emond.
Don, Donny, DD, Dad, Honey, Papa, Pop-Pop was a truly loved and respected man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
