Alfred Branciforte
1948 - 2026

It is with deep sadness to announce Alfred (Big Al) Branciforte, 77, of East Hampton, died peacefully on Feb. 10th with his family by his side. He was born in Middletown the son of Anne (Gutauskas) Branciforte and Carmello (Curly) Branciforte of Cromwell. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Camille (Zimmitti) Branciforte, daughters Lana Branciforte, Andrea Hanrahan, and son-in-law, David Hanrahan, his sister Jean Stamm, and his brother Jimmy Branciforte.

He was fun loving and unique, someone you wont forget upon meeting. He loved fixing engines especially lawnmowers and creating anything on his work bench. He loved Science, and the Ocean, and quoting movie lines, as some of his favorites were Jaws, Goodfellas and anything from Arnold Swarzenegger. He loved 50s music and his Cadillac that he finally got as his last wish. We have fond memories of cruising on the CT river on the pontoon boat that he built from a car engine, the "first in board". Summers in Cape Cod, and taking a ride down the shore for fried clams and Oysters. He had a love of cats and all animals.

He lived life his way, and as his friend John said, he lived his life according to Al.

Services will be held Thurs., Feb. 19, 2026 at DAngelos funeral home in Middletown from 5-7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 20th, 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian church, (no calling hours), with a burial at St. Sebastians cemetary. If you wish to donate in Als memory, please go to ASPCA.org or to Middlesex Health Hospice Program.
