Robert (Bob) Edwin Hintz, age 67, succumbed to gastric cancer on August 4, 2016 surrounded by loved ones in his home in Redwood City, CA. Born on December 13, 1948 in New Britain, CT to Edward and Dorothy Hintz, Bob was the 2nd of 5 boys (Edward, Mike, Eric, and Arthur) who all loved sports and each other.

Bob graduated from Cromwell High School, in Cromwell, CT and then Hartford Institute of Accounting in Hartford, CT. He was a mail carrier for the Cromwell post office. Bob proudly served in Vietnam with the Army 1st Infantry. He was honorably discharged in July of 1974, receiving three service medals. An avid softball and basketball player, Bob later excelled in golf, and remarkably played every single golf course in Northern California, over 450 of them! A successful realtor in Redwood City and San Carlos for over 36 years, Bob was active in the community, including membership in the Woodside Mounted Patrol and founding member of PREGA Golf. Bob loved movies, music and traveling and boasted visiting all 50 states. He was a farmer at heart, planting redwood trees all over California and an amazing garden in his Redwood City home.

He is survived by his mother Dorothy; brothers Mike, Eric, Arthur; his two children, Samantha Trask Lee and Ryan Trask; grandson Clayton; and best friend and companion Nancy Scola. He was pre-deceased by his brother Edward Hintz Jr. and father Edward Hintz.
