Anthony James Galanto Jr.
1948 - 2010
Anthony James Galanto Jr., 62, beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, passed away at his home in Deerfield Beach, Fla., on Monday, Nov. 8, 2010.
Born in Middletown on May 25, 1948, the son of the late Sophie (Shefcyk) and Anthony Galanto Sr., Anthony lived in Middletown and Cromwell and attended Cromwell public schools. He also lived and worked as a handyman in California and Florida for many years.
He is survived by his sisters, Mary Ann and her husband John Prokop of East Hampton, Janice Cotter of Cromwell, Linda Galanto and Cheryl Wright, both of Middletown, and Suzie Hamel of Middlefield; also several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by very caring and dear friends, Rhonda Abel, Heather Vaughn and Justin Ewing all of Florida, who cared for him during his battle with cancer and helped to honor his wishes to be at home. We are forever grateful to them. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Galanto.
Anthony lived his life with a sense of adventure. He was a hard worker and took a lot of pride in his work. He was generous and throughout his own life's journey he helped many people along the way.
Funeral services will be held in Florida and burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. John's Cemetery, Middletown.
