Margaret Ann Swol Langer
1947 - 2025
Margaret Ann "Peggy" Langer, 77, of Higganum, beloved wife of Richard C. Langer, passed away on June 19, 2025, at Middlesex Hospital.
Born in Middletown, daughter of the late Stanley and Nellie (Dykas) Swol, Peggy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and teacher. She inspired many as an educator at Haddam Killingworth High School and later devoted herself to her family and hobbies. A skilled baker, gardener, quilter, and seamstress, Peggy shared her love and creativity with everyone around her, especially through her famous baked goods and homemade quilts.
She and her husband, Richard, cherished their role as Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus, spreading joy at local events. Peggy's warmth and hospitality were central to family gatherings, including her traditional Polish Christmas Eve dinners and Easter Egg hunts.
A dedicated member of St. Peter Church, Peggy also served with the Ladies Guild. She is survived by her husband, Richard; children, Richard (Connie), Steven, Patricia (Garrett), and Thomas (Stephanie); brothers, Stanley and Raymond Swol; and grandchildren, Hannah, Collin, Natalia, Elizabeth, Vanessa, Madison, and Micah. She was predeceased by grandchildren Timothy and Alexander, and her brother Michael.
A celebration of Peggy's life will be held Thursday, June 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Peter Church, Higganum. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
