Saundra Kott Patria
1944 - 2025

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Saundra “Sandy” Marie Patria, who passed away June 6, 2025, in Arlington, Texas surrounded by her cherished family. Born on November 24, 1944, in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, Sandy was the beloved daughter of Muriel Dean and Charles “Chuck” Kammer.

A spirited and radiant presence, Sandy lived a life defined by boundless love, joyful energy, and an unshakable devotion to her family. She shared a lifetime of laughter, dance, and partnership with her loving husband, Charles “Charlie” Patria. Together, they raised two children who were the pride of her life: her son Timothy Patria and his wife Susan, and her daughter Beth Culler and her husband David.

Sandy was also the proud and doting grandmother to Whitney and Haley Patria, and Davey and Tori Culler—her heart and soul. She never missed a moment to support them, capturing memories at school events, sports games, and family gatherings with the lens of her ever-present camera. She was lovingly known as the “official unofficial” family photographer, and her photos are now treasured keepsakes of the moments she helped create.

After getting married, Sandy received her cosmetology license and work side-by-side with her husband in his hair salon “The House of Charles!” She also was the Operational Vice President of the company “Aloe Mist!”. Sandy pursued life with the curiosity of a scholar and the spirit of an adventurer. Her shelves were filled with books on ancient civilizations, UFOs, and the mysteries of the universe—proof of a mind always reaching beyond the ordinary. She was proudly part of Cheerleading Unlimited and remained a cheerleader in life for everyone she loved.

Sandy’s passion for music and dancing never waned, even when her body slowed. She was known to chair dance with a smile that lit up the room, her rhythm undimmed by time. Her joy was infectious, and her presence was a gift—one that made every holiday brighter, every party livelier, and every family moment unforgettable.

She is survived by her Husband Charlie, her two children Tim and Beth, sister Linda Leibert, her brother-in-law Bob, and his wife Carol Patria, along with her four grandkids. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.

To know Sandy was to be loved deeply, cheered on enthusiastically, and photographed with joy. Her spirit, full of wonder, warmth, and a touch of whimsy, will continue to dance in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

The family will be throwing a PARTY per Sandy’s final request. Please mark your calendars for July 11th, 2025, Friday at 7:00pm located at the White Room in Arlington, Texas. The family would love for anyone who was touched by Sandy’s spirit to attend. Let us all celebrate her and gather together in joy. She will be dancing in heaven pain-free, jamming to “Queen”, and continuing “Shot Friday” with everyone in heaven.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by dancing a little, laughing often, and treasuring time with those you love.

Forever our music, our light, and our heart—Sandy, you will be missed beyond words.

“Heavan has gained a special angel. Sandy was the most incredible mother anyone could ever ask for, not just to me and my brother, but to many others. She was affectionally called “Baby” “Mom” “Mama” “Grandma Sandy” “Paparazzi” and mostly “Mrs.P”. Wow, Mom, you set the bar high. I Pray I can be as crazy, loving, caring, and supportive as you were." -Beth Culler

I have had the good fortune to be able to care for her since she was 6 weeks old when my daughter-in-law Sue went back to work. I also take care of a friend's little boy who is 14 months, so I have my hands full, but it's the best job I have ever had.

Charlie and I are very fortunate, we can walk to our daughter & son-in-law's house and from there we can walk to our son and daughter-in-law's house. It may not always remain this way, but for now we all live close and I love it. Charlie and Timmy run a furniture store and Beth and Dave run a fitness facility ( velocitifitness.com ). I've been very lucky to have just a wonderful husband and family.

I've been pretty tied up the last 6-9 mo's or so and haven't had the chance to stay in touch as much as I'd like to. The reason... My son (Tim), daughter-in-law (Sue), granddaughter (Whitney), and their cat (Emox) moved in with us the beginning of November. They purchased my daughter and son-in-law's house and wanted to remodel it. My daughter (Beth), son-in-law (Dave), and their dog (Duke) moved in with us the beginning of December. They purchased a foreclosure and gutted it for rebuilding. Tim ,Sue and Whitney moved out the end of February; but Beth and Dave are still living with us, probably til August. Needless to say my house has been an absolute zoo and our lives have been turned upside down. It really has been hectic, but also fun, to have everyone under one roof. I like to say that my daughter even had to come home to get pregnant; they are due with their first child (David Harlan Culler V) in October. I plan on taking care of him right along with Whitney. I can't wait!! Sandy Patria
