Anne M. (Henderson) Franklin June 16, 2025 Anne Marie Franklin, age 80, of Methuen, Massachusetts and Garfield Plantation, Maine passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, with her loving family by her side.
Anne was born February 26, 1945 at the Chelsea Naval Hospital in Massachusetts, the daughter of naval officer Edward Henderson and Claire (Tilley) Henderson.
Anne considered Cromwell, Connecticut to be her hometown. A graduate of Cromwell High School, she received her BS in Nursing from the University of Connecticut in 1967.
In 1971, she married the love of her life, Bob Franklin, also of Cromwell. They raised their family in Marshfield, Massachusetts. In 1988 the family moved to Higganum, Connecticut. Anne received her Master's Degree in Public Administration from the University of Hartford. She worked at Blue Cross until her retirement in 1998. Anne and Bob moved to Methuen in 2013.
In all the years since retirement, Anne and Bob summered in northern Maine where they enjoyed and cared for her family's beloved 1898 farm. They traveled widely during the rest of the year, sometimes with their entire family in tow. Anne was a fine cook, an accomplished birder, an award-winning gardener and knitter, and a friend to everybody.
Anne was predeceased by her parents, and is survived by her husband, her son, Charles, of Auburn, Maine, her daughter and son-in-law Amy and Douglas Hubler of Andover, Massachusetts, by three grandchildren, Heather Franklin and Aaron and Alex Hubler, and by her sister Mary Claire of Florida.
Anne and Bob were parishioners of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Andover, Massachusetts and of St. Mark in Ashland, Maine. Calling hours will be held at St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, 198 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover, Massachusetts on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 9 - 11 a.m. with a funeral mass immediately following. Burial will be at the Ashland Municipal Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
