Lucy (Bordonaro) Shelton, 81, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026. She was born in Middletown, Connecticut, raised in Cromwell, Connecticut, and later made her home in Houston, Texas.
She will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and the care she gave to those around her. She touched many lives as an Early Childhood Educator, starting her career at Turtle and Head Start and ending at Fort Bend County Independent School District and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lucy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bud (Malloy) Shelton; her mother, Mary (Spada) Bordonaro; and sister, Phyllis Bordonaro.
Lucy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children: daughter, Carrie Hernandez and husband, Mario, her children, David, Maria, Joseph, and Angela; son, Jerry Wolfgram and wife, Sheryl, their daughte,r Amber and husband, George, and their daughter, Genevieve; daughter, Lucinda Burnickas and husband, Mike, and their son, Andrew; daughter, JoAnn Ybarra and husband, Anthony, and her daughter, Desiree and husband, Andrew; stepdaughters, Jennifer Shelton; and Kim Gonzalez and husband, George, and their children, Daniel and Alexis; as well as her siblings, Carmella Turning and husband, Bob, Linda Mierz and husband, Marty, Josephine Ackerman, Sam Bordonaro and wife, Linda, Debbie Marotta and husband, Butch and Marie Bordonaro, and their families.
A private burial will be held at the family's discretion. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
