Burton Swanson

Burton E. Swanson, 46, of 1 Walnut Tree Road Cromwell,
husband of Marilyn (Smith) Swanson, died at the Middlesex Memorial Hospital, on Nov. 28.
Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Swen G. and Anna (Nyren) Swanson, and was a lifelong Cromwell resident.
He was a member of the Covenant Congregational Church, Cromwell, and treasurer for many years, and a member of the board of trustees. He was financial vice president, treasurer and a member of the board of directors of the Purdy Corp., of Manchester. He graduated from Cromwell High School, class of 1961
Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Brian S., Barry A. and Bruce E. Swanson, all at home; an uncle, Carl Swanson; and three aunts, Virginia Swanson, Esther and Elsie Nyren, all of Cromwell.
Funeral will be held on Friday, at 2 p.m., at the Covenant Congregational Church. The Rev. Robert D. McNaughton, and the Rev. Joni Benson, will officiate and interment will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
Friends may call at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St., Thursday, from 7 to 9 p.m.
