Gail Ann Lewis Robbins
1942 - 2023
Gail Ann Lewis Robbins, born December 16, 1942, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on May 30, 2023. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Paul & Iona (Chapman) Lewis.
Gail retired from the State of Connecticut in 2008 after 24 years of service. Along with her work for the state, she wore many hats as a beloved mother, blessed grandmother and a grateful, great grandmother. She was a friend to many and a wonderful source of knowledge to all. She loved to spoil all her own and everyone else’s animals. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, Hallmark Movies and baking cookies and donuts which everyone would request at the holidays.
Gail was funny, strong, and confident, yet she always stayed humble. Even with all the knowledge she had, what she didn’t know, she would learn with determination. Creativity was her knack! She could upcycle an old dresser and turn it into a beautiful piece of décor for her home. She was a collector of antiques from far and wide and a big fan of It’s a Small World ride in Disneyworld.
Gail leaves behind her children; John Robbins & wife Patti of Groton, VT, Paul Robbins of Cromwell, CT, Loretta Robbins of Bend, OR, and Kelly Varricchio of Cromwell, CT and her honored son Willy Olsen of Middletown, CT; grandchildren; Sarah & Adam Robbins, Makayla & Maddie Robbins, Jordan, Taylor & Aaron Christner, Kai Moorhead, and Ashley & Stephanie Heinzmann and five great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law Robert Varricchio, grandson Keith Heinzmann, and sister Linda Pascoe.
The family would like to say thank you Heavens Hand for the support and Middlesex Hospital Comfort Care for all their help.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, June 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell.
