Kent S. Heidenis
1942-2025


Kent Stanley Heidenis died on March 23rd, 2025. Kent was born on February 26th, 1942 in Middletown, CT. Having spent his early years in Cromwell, he moved to Avon nearly 50 years ago. Kent was involved in various capacities with the Architectural hardware industry for more than 40 years. Most recently, he was the owner of Accessory Door & Hardware LLC.

In addition to his wife of 50 years, Barbara, he is survived by two children. His son Chad and his wife Ana of Portland, CT and his daughter Sarah and her partner, Jared Smith, of Haverhill, NH. He is survived by his beloved granddaughter, Winter, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Kerry.

Kent loved being outdoors. He was an avid hiker, cross country skier, whitewater canoeist and kayaker. He served as a trail maintainer for the CT Forest and Parks Association and was White Water chairman for the CT chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. He loved nature and all living things and enthusiastically imparted this love to his children.

A celebration of Kent’s life will take place on May 4th, 2025 between 11:30AM and 2:30PM at Knights of Columbus Hall 171 Pascone Place Newington, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arbor Day Foundation.
