Susan Miles Baldyga
1941 - 2007
Susan Cole (Miles) Baldyga, 65, of Earl Roberts Rd., Higganum, beloved wife of Walter Baldyga passed away peacefully at Middlesex Hospital Monday August 13, 2007, surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 24, 1941 in Hartford, she was the daughter of Hazel (Cole) Miles of Georgetown, TX, and the late Ernest Miles. In addition to her loving husband of 42 years she is survived by three sons, Michael Baldyga and his fiancé Holly Roitter of WI, Stephen Baldyga and his wife Andrea of Colchester and William Baldyga of Middletown; two sisters, Gail and her husband William Tait of TX and Geri Gasior of Cromwell; her mother in law, Josephine Baldyga; her sister-in-law, Caroline Perez, brother-in-law, Stanley Baldyga and his wife Patricia, all of Middletown; and six grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Sue was also predeceased by her brother Gary Miles and her brother in law, Robert Gasior.
She was "mom" and "grandma Sue" to her loving family and she will be remembered as a strong and brave women who was loved by everyone she knew. She enjoyed many things in her life, especially spending time with her grandchildren Julia, Victoria, Sofia, Sean, Madison & Jessica. Sue is also leaving behind many dear friends made through her days camping in Bozrah. Traveling with her husband and making friends along the way is what brought joy to her life. Sue graduated from radiology school and worked as a radiologist before her retirement.
Sue's family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, family and friends for all their love and care through Sue's illness. Sue always saw the beauty in everything around her. She brought much love and joy to everyone's life she came in contact with. She was also able to and still will bring a smile to everyone not only on their face but also in their hearts. Sue's sons and daughter-in-law would like to thank their mother for teaching them that giving up is never an option.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Liturgy in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook St., Rocky Hill. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middletown. Bearers are her three sons, her nephews Jason and Brian Gasior and a special family friend John Starr.
