Hugh Hunt
1942 - 2003
Hugh B. Hunt, 62, a resident of Hudson [Massachusetts] for the past four years
and formerly of Sudbury, died suddenly, Saturday, July 19, 2003 at his summer
residence in Maine. He was the husband of Carol (Hatfield) Hunt, to whom he was
married for 41 years.
A true New Englander all of his life, he was born in Providence, Rhode Island,
raised in Cromwell, Connecticut, and graduated from Cromwell High School in 1959.
He attended Yale University and graduated in 1963, continuing on to receive an M.D.
from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1969. Dr. Hunt served as a
Lieutenant Commander and Assistant Medical Attache in Indonesia from 1969 to 1971,
and with Project Hope in Kingstown, Jamaica in 1973. He completed his residency
training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Harvard University's Beth Israel Hospital
in 1973. Since that time, Dr. Hunt has been associated with the MetroWest Medical
Center.
His hobbies were diverse and exciting. He loved gardening, hunting, skiiing and
sailing, and engaging in all with reckless abandon. Almost always on the go,
whether for himself or others, he gave his all for every project he tackled.
Dr. Hunt never hesitated to help others and embraced life with vigor and enthusiasm.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Mariah Hunt-Legare
of Clinton, Hugh Blair Hunt Jr. of Coventry, Rhode Island, and Daniel Brian Hunt
of Natick; 2 grandsons, Connor and Wesley; a brother George Hunt of North Carolina;
and several nieces and nephews.
