Lois Franklin Donahue

Lois Ann (Franklin) Donohue, 72, of Cromwell, wife of Richard W. Donohue for fifty-four years, passed away on Wednesday, April 9th at Hartford Hospital. Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Katherine (Ryan) Franklin.

Lois was a member of Saint Peter Church in Higganum. She worked as a nurse's aide at Pilgrim Manor of Covenant Village for many years and was the coordinator for Richard Donohue Studio of Music. She was also President Emeritus of the Cromwell Historical Society, where she will always be remembered for her tireless work on the Christmas Open House, her definitive history of Cromwell Hall and her cheerful and unwavering support of the Society's endeavors.

Along with her husband, Lois is survived by two sons, Robert L. Donohue of Cromwell and Richard F. Donohue of Niantic; two daughters, Linda M. Donohue and Katherine M. Donohue, both of Cromwell; two grandchildren, Ryan and Carlton Donohue and two great grandchildren, Cassius and Sullivan Donohue.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 11th at 11:00am at Saint Peter Church, 30 Saint Peter Lane, Higganum. Burial will follow in Cromwell Hillside Cemetery West.

Friends may call on Friday morning at Saint Peter Church from 9:30 to 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lois's memory may be made to Cromwell Historical Society, P.O. Box 146, Cromwell, CT 06416.
