A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 1995, in St. Francis Catholic Church in Sherwood for Michael Arcidiacono who died of cancer May 20 at age 53. He was born on Aug. 19, 1941, in Middletown, Conn. Raised in Cromwell and East Hampton, Conn., he was a graduate of East Hampton High School in 1959.

Michael graduated fron Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. He received a master's degree in education from the University of Hartford and a master's degree in science from the University of Oregon in 1967. He received a doctorate in education from the university in 1970. He taught at East Hampton High School. Later, from 1970 to 1988, he was a professor of mathematics at Central Washington University. From 1988 until his death, he taught at the Math Learning Center in Portland.

In 1969, he married Laura Hampton.

He is survived by his wife; mother, Helen of East Hampton, Conn.; sons, Peter of Madison, Wis., and Michael and John, both of Tualatin; brother, Peter of East Hampton; and sisters, Elizabeth Archer of West Hartford, Conn., and Virginia Pelletrti and Mary Sarratt, both of East Hampton.
