Linda (Imundo) Gregory

Linda (Imundo) Gregory, 67, of Cromwell, beloved wife for 38 years of Philip Gregory, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 7, 2016. Born in Hartford on February 12, 1949, she was the daughter of the late John and Erminia (Rolando) Imundo.

Linda was a 1967 graduate of Rocky Hill High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Connecticut State College in 1971 and her Master's Degree from Central Connecticut State College. Linda was a longtime teacher in the Rocky Hill and Cromwell school systems, retiring from Woodside Intermediate School, Cromwell in 2014 after 34 years of service. She served as a teacher leader and mentor to many new teachers and student teachers. She was very involved in the community and enjoyed working with her students after school, attending PTO and community events and helping her colleagues.

She also enjoyed knitting, but more than anything she loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter who she delighted in caring for after her retirement from teaching. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Linda will be dearly missed by her devoted husband Philip; two children, Marc Gregory of Cromwell and Sarah LaFollette and her husband Nathan of Rocky Hill and her adored granddaughter, Lauren LaFollette who was the apple of her eye. She is also survived by her brother, John R. Imundo, Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Kensington; sister, Laurie Schiro and her husband Carmine of Rocky Hill; three nephews, Philip and Bryan Schiro and Michael Imundo, as well as many friends, co-workers and former students who will forever cherish her memory.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday (August 11) at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 280 Brook St., Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield.
