On Friday, December 16, 2016, Greg was called to Heaven this ending his suffering after a serious complex illness at St. Francis Hospital and Medical. Born in Middletown, Greg resided in Rocky Hill with his wife of 25 years, Kathleen and raised two sons, Christopher and Kevin Sylvestro.
After graduating from Xavier High School, Greg attended Manchester Community College with an Associates Degree in Culinary Services. Work in the food service industry included Stop & AETNA, Shop, Dunkin Donuts and Big Y.
Being and avid Sports enthusiast Greg was happiest cheering on the NY Yankees and Miami Dolphins. Greg loved music and enjoyed concerts. Greg is the grandson of the musician "Toots" Sylvestro of Middletown. During the Holiday's Greg would be found baking his famous holiday cookies sharing them with his neighbors, friends and family. Most of all Greg's true gift was making people laugh and smile. He would always enjoy telling you a silly joke or story, waiting for your response, which was laughter. He was a fun loving man who loved and cherished his family and friends. You all mean so much to him. Special thanks to "Grammie Gail" and Rachel for supporting us during this hard time.
Greg is the son of Alexander Sylvestro and the late Ellen F. Sylvestro. He leaves his wife Kathleen Sylvestro. Greg leaves his two sisters Beth Sylvestro of Middletown and Allison Michelle and husband Trent of Norton, OH. Greg will be missed by all of his aunts, uncles and cousins, his brother and sisters-in-laws and his mother-in-law Joan Bennett. He loved and adored his nieces Olivia, Elizabeth, Laura, Julia and Skylar and his nephew Hunter. You were the "apple of his eyes and he loved you immensely.
Special heart-felt thanks to the dedicated staff of the MSICU at St. Francis Hospital. Your care spoke volumes to the dedication, support and compassion that you showed to Greg and our entire family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 930 am directly in St. James Church 767 Elm St. Rocky Hill. Burial will be private. Family and friends are invited to the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at brOOKLAWN. 511 Brook St. Rocky Hill, Wednesday from 5-8pm.
