Michael Wayne Peck, 47 of Cromwell. beloved husband of Lynn (Hemingway) Peck, passed away on Sunday, (March 13, 2011) at home surrounded by his family after a 14 year battle with cancer. Born in Middletown, he was the son of Lorraine (Malcolm) Peck of Cromwell and the late Gerald Wayne Peck. Mike lived in Cromwell all of his life and was a member of the Cromwell Fish and Game Club. He spent many enjoyable weekends hunting with his Dad and his brothers, Throughout his lifetime, Mike was also a member of numerous leagues including golf. bowling, darts and softball. Mike's love of music and his guitars brought him a sense of comfort during difficult times. He also enjoyed spending time with his new Brittany puppy, Lucy. She brought many smiles to his life. Mike will be remembered for his great sense of humor and his uncanny ability to make people laugh.
Besides his wife and mother, he will be missed by his two brothers, Brian Peck and his wife, Dawn Marie of Durham and Donald Werner and his wife, Maureen of Niantic: his father and mother-in-law Patrick and Dorothy Hemingway of Waterford; his sister-in-law, Lori Carlson and her husband, Bob of Berlin and several nieces and nephews. Mike's family would like to thank the nursing staff at Middlesex Hospice Palliative Care for their support during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 17 from the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street. Cromwell at 10 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Church, 5 St. John Court, Cromwell at 11 a.m. with Monsignor Thomas Ginty officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the fam. ily in West Cemetery in Cromwell. Friends may call at the Cromwell Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. and for friends who prefer. they may make donations in Mike's memory to Yale-New Haven Transplant Center, 800 Howard Avenue.
