Waterford - Claude Milton Adams III, 52, of Waterford, husband of Patricia (Cianci)
Adams, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at his home.
Born in Middletown, he was the first born son of Barbara (Ryan) Adams of Cromwell
and the late Claude M. Adams Jr.
Claude was a longtime charter captain, operating the "Wanderer" and "Lady Margaret"
and drove trucks for many years. He had a great passion for the ocean, loved animals
and spent many wonderful summers at Lake Hayward. He had a great sense of humor and
was loved by everyone he met. Claude touched many lives and will be truly missed by
those who knew him.
Along with his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Claude M. Adams IV
and Lindsey Adams, both of Niantic; two brothers, Donald Adams and his wife, Lynn,
of Cromwell and Steven Adams and his wife, Rose, of Woodbridge; a sister, Cathleen
Mahony of Algonquin, Ill.; his mother-in-law, Nella Cianci of Rocky Hill; two
sisters-in law, Carol Jameson and her husband, Brian, of Wallingford and Cynthia
Cianci of Wethersfield; and a brother-in-law, Michael Cianci of Wethersfield; and
several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by an infant brother, Thomas Adams; his father-in-law and his
grandparents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at
Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell. Burial will be at the convenience
of the family. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Claude's memory to the American Cancer
Society, 825 Brook St., I-91 Tech Ctr., Rocky Hill, CT 06067-3045.
