Susan was born Susan Gayle Freudenstein on November 20, 1955 in Hartford, Connecticut to late parents Robert and Barbara Freudenstein of Cromwell, CT. She spent her youth growing up in Connecticut before moving to California where she married, raised a family, traveled the country and became a member of the local community. She enjoyed Julian's peaceful countryside and all four seasons, working in her lush garden, hiking in the mountains and skiing with family and close friends, among other hobbies. The highlights of her professional adventures were the secretary of the Argentine ambassador, the emergency seamstress, the accountant, the long-time waitress at the local Longbranch restaurant and the proud owner of Little Gem Airbnb. She is survived by her husband Glenn J. Bustillos of Julian, her sister Nancy F. Ruffino and her husband Louis of Westbrook, CT, her daughter Brianna B. O'Leary and her husband Chris of Missoula, MT, as well as her grandchildren - Hayden and Brigham. Susan passed away peacefully at age 64 in her Julian home with her husband by her side on April 25, 2020. As requested, a memorial event will be held at a later date to celebrate her life with friends and family. Family condolences can be mailed to Bustillos Residence, P.O. Box 1077, Julian, CA 92036. She will be deeply missed by those who loved and knew her.
