Pamela Reed Bayha
1953-2023

Pamela "Pam" Jeanne Bayha, 70, of Portland, CT passed away peacefully from this life on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at Middlesex Hospital with her family by her side. Born to James and Shirley Reed in Meriden, CT, on January 27, 1953, Pam grew up in Meriden and Cromwell, CT, graduating from Cromwell High School in 1971.

Pam worked throughout her life at Middlesex Hospital and Orthopedic Associates of Hartford before retiring in 2022.

Like her mother, Pam was beautiful inside and out. She was loved by everyone including family, friends, co-workers and patients for her kindness, compassion, witty sense of humor and her courage, while battling various health issues, always with a smile on her face. Pam always put others needs and happiness before her own; always available to lend an ear or helping hand.

Pam enjoyed the beach, camping, spending time with family, motorcycle rides, dining out and road trips just meandering the countryside stopping along the way at whatever caught her eye. She loved the state of Maine, making many trips with family or friends over her lifetime. Most recent years also included outings with her sister, Lynda and husband Joe, on their boat relaxing and enjoying the many lakes of CT.

Pam was especially fond of cats and participated in rescuing many, with her stepsister, Virginia, and finding good, loving homes for them, including her own!

Pam was preceded in death by her father, James C. Reed, mother, Shirley G. Clement and her brother David A. Reed.

She leaves behind her beloved son Russell David Bayha, whom she was so very proud of, and his wife Kelly of Amston, CT and her sister, Lynda Reed Derosier and her husband Joseph (who had a special bond with Pam referring to her as his "second" wife) of East Hampton, CT and whom Pam resided with for her final months of life. She is also survived by her stepfather, David Clement of Sebring, FL, whom she loved dearly for loving her mother, Shirley, unconditionally for over 40 years, stepsisters Virginia Surdel and husband Richard and Rhonda Clement Terragna all of Ruthersfordton, NC, stepbrother David Clement Jr. and wife Patti of Middletown, CT, special friend Kevin Chameroy of Windham, CT, former husband and father of her son, Charles Bayha of Portland, CT as well as many extended family and friends.

Pam also leaves behind her "kids" (as she referred to them) Dorito, Cheeto, Smudge and Bucky, all rescue kitties whom she loved and spoiled. They will continue to be loved and cared for by her son Russell and sister Lynda until they cross the rainbow bridge to be with their "Mom" again. At Pam's request there are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill, CT on Friday, May 26 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in Pam's name to the CT Humane Society in Newington, CT.

Thank you, "mom", "sis", "Pam" for all your love, support and special memories. We love you, miss you and will always keep you close to our hearts.
