Lora Ellen Ruske Seraphin
1951 - 2013
Lora Ellen (Ruske) Seraphin, 61, born November 18th 1951, entered into eternal rest peacefully with her loving family at her side on July 6, 2013 at Hospice of Arizona after a brief illness. She is the beloved wife of William F. Seraphin and loving mother to Heather Deming. She was predeceased by her father Joseph P. Ruske in 2010 and is survived by her mother Bernice L. Ruske, ex-husband Rick Deming, brothers, Roger, Robin, Riley, Hilary, Matthew, John, and Luke Ruske, sister Roanne (Ruske) VonHagen, as well as, all of their spouses, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she adored and loved greatly, as well as, her dog Angel.
Lora grew up on the Ruske Farm and was a graduate of Cromwell High School in 1969 and went on to become a nurse working at the veteran's hospital in Rocky Hill for many years. After retirement from a long career of caring for others, she moved to North Carolina and married William.
Lora was an avid baker and had an artistic gift of making beautiful cakes for many people and occasions. Lora and Bill were also known for making tin men of all varieties and making people smile with them. Lora had a great gift of always helping others before herself and was an animal lover. Anyone that met or knew Lora was touched by her kind heart and they shall keep her memory in their hearts forever.
A Catholic Mass to remember and celebrate Lora Seraphin will be July 25th 2013 at 10 a.m., at St. John Church in Cromwell, CT. Family, Friends, and coworkers are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, at the church, the family asks that donations may be made to Cromwell Fire Department, CT Humane Society,or the American Liver Foundation-CT chapter in Lora's name.
