Kenneth John Sekscenski, 64, of Higganum, died with peace while surrounded by his loving family on September 26, 2013. He was born in New Britain; son of Walter and Beatrice Hird Sekscenski.

He was honorably discharged as Sergeant E5 from the United States Army and stationed in Europe for 3 years. While enjoying the fine sport of Horseshoes, he co-founded the Haddam Horseshoe League, a position he proudly held for 25 years serving as President. Ken was an accomplished banjo player in the Bluegrass community for 16 years. Together with his wife and many loving and supporting friends, they helped to formulate "Charter Oak Bluegrass". Of all the positions and offices Kenneth held, none was more special to his heart than that of being called to father 3 caring and respectful sons all while being a devoted husband and best friend to his endeared and beloved wife of 34 years.
