Thomas Eugene Phillips ('66 Vinal)

Thomas Eugene Phillips (Pudge), 65, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away suddenly on September 12, 2013 at his home.
Pudge was born in Annapolis, MD on March 16, 1948. He lived in Cromwell, CT until he joined the Army in 1966. He was a Vietnam War Veteran as a Helicopter Gunner with the 116 Assault Helicopter Company, 11 Combat Aviation Battalion. He received a total of 9 medals including the Soldiers Medal for Heroism. He was active in the Veterans Association and spent most of his free time with fellow veterans involved in various activities such as camping, picnics, dinners, and simple fellowship. These gatherings meant a lot to him and were very dear to his heart.
He was predeceased by his father, James Thomas Phillips, and two brothers; John Phillips and Alan Rollish. He is survived by his mother, Frances Brauer-Rollish of Cromwell CT; the mother of his children, Ella Brown of NJ; his children, Tammy, Michael and Elizabeth all of NJ; brothers, Gary, Michael, Jeffrey, Timmy and Bobby; sisters, Nancy, Cheryl and Laurie; grandchildren, Heather, Billy, Jordanna, Carissa, Hannah, Hailey and Brandon and great grandchild, Jacob, and several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed & forever loved by all his family and friends.
Family and Friends will be gathering for the funeral services, which will be held at 11:30am with the burial following at 12 noon at the Middletown State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT on September 23, 2013. In lieu of flowers all donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
