1947 - 2020
He spent his whole career in education. Ray’s first teaching position was in West Hartford, CT. From there he moved to NH and was offered a position at the Amherst Middle School. After earning his Master’s Degree, he served as Assistant Principle at the Pelham Memorial School. Ray finished up his career teaching at Bicentennial Elementary School in Nashua, retiring in 2009.
Ray was a very good athlete. In his youth he played and lettered in High School soccer and youth baseball, short stop being his favorite position. In retirement he played year round baseball and was a good golfer. He also found time to fish, especially with his grandsons and always managed to pull in the big ones. No one loved cars more than Ray, new ones. He was always on top of what was coming out in the new year and their ratings. Ray helped many of his family and colleagues find and purchase the right car.
Ray served his country by enlisting in the Army National Guard for six years. In retirement he made many trips to Pease Air National Guard Base to greet homecoming military personnel. Love of family is an understatement, no one could have loved their family more than he. There are not too many of us that hang pictures of their grandchildren over the kitchen sink. He will truly be missed by many.
