Roger E. Lindquist
1946 - 2018
 

Roger E. Lindquist of Greensboro, GA passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospice on Sept 22nd in Athens, GA. He was 72. Born and raised in Cromwell, CT, he was the son of the late Roger W. and Theresa H. Roger joined the US Air Force upon graduating high school.

After leaving military service, he began his career in the newspaper industry with the Hartford Courant which led him to work for many newspapers along the eastern seaboard prior to retiring in Georgia. A devout Christian, Roger made his family and his faith the centerpieces of his earthly life. Always active and social, he could often be found out walking with friends or organizing local events. As president of the Veterans Club for his Lake Oconee community, Roger took great pride in leading the annual 4th of July festivities.

Roger is survived by his loving wife Carol; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Anna Lindquist of Hebron, CT; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Stephen Becker of Manchester, CT; his three sisters Patricia Schwarm of Portland, CT; Pamela Allegretti of Higganum, CT and Margaret Maine of Clinton, CT; as well as one grandson, Henry Lindquist; and former spouse Kathleen Orsini of Marlborough, CT.

A graveside service will be held Friday the 28th at 11 AM at Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown, CT. All are welcome. Donations may be made to St. Mary's Foundation, Hospice Services, 1230 Baxter Street, Athens GA 30606 or to a veterans charity of your choosing.
