Helen Marjorie (Caffrey) McCann, 91, passed away on Tuesday, May 13th at Pilgrim Manor.
Born in 1923 and lived all her life in Cromwell, she was the daughter of the late Bernard and Esther (Olson) Caffrey. Helen graduated Middletown High School Class of 1941 and was employed by A. N. Pierson, Inc. for many years. She enjoyed antiquing and owned several antiques made by J & E Stevens Manufacturing in Cromwell. She had a great love for the television shows on Public Broadcast systems specifically All Creatures Great & Small and was a fan of Dame Judi Dench. Helen loved that her son would buy her the DVDs of these shows. Helen was one of the most wonderful people in this world. She never had a negative thought and touched many people in a positive way. Her son who felt so fortunate to have her for a Mom also felt especially blessed for being able to care for her in her later years. She is survived by two children, Mark McCann of Cromwell and Sandra Warren and her husband, Thomas of Middletown; a grandchild, Jessica McCann and two great grandchildren, Tyler and Zachary.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 16th at 10:00am at Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell. Burial will follow in Cromwell Hillside Cemetery West. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Drive, Wallingford, CT 06492.
